The Durance (Occitan: Durença in classical norm or Durènço in Mistralian norm) is a 320 km long river in south-eastern France, left tributary of the Rhône. Its source is in the south-western Alps, in the ski resort of Montgenèvre near Briançon. It flows south-west through the following départements and cities:
The Durance flows into the river Rhône near Avignon. The main tributaries of the Durance are the rivers Bléone and Verdon.
